Welcoming Carla Ross to the team!

We would like to welcome Carla Ross to the Inlight Psychology Team!
Carla is a psychologist with years of clinical experience working with youth, adults, and older adults. She has worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, youth and adult inpatient and outpatient hospitals, university clinics, and Alzheimer's Australia. She holds a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University.
Carla works with a variety of presentations, including anxiety (stress, worry, phobias, OCD), low mood, grief and loss, older adult issues, life transition and adjustment, chronic illness, postnatal depression, relationship and sexual difficulties, and social and family difficulties.
Carla has a warm and compassionate coaching style. She works from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, Schema, ACT, Mindfulness, and solution-focused. She is committed to helping people make self-directed changes and helps them focus on their strengths and inner resources.
Of note, Carla has considerable experience and interest working with anxiety disorders. She also has a strong interest in working with older adults and worked in Alzheimer's Australia for 3 years supporting individuals with a diagnosis of dementia and family carers.
When asked what she thinks about her profession, Carla said "I am dedicated to helping others - this is part of my nature - and enjoy the connections I make with people in my work. I love how in the profession you are always learning - from each client you see as well as keeping abreast of advances in the profession, which is always evolving and changing. I also enjoy working with older adults whom offer fascinating life stories and much wisdom from their experiences."
