I am deeply committed to helping individuals experience meaningful and sustainable change that is true to the life they want to live.  My therapeutic style is very gentle and empathic, and I believe developing an authentic and safe therapeutic relationship is key to creating positive change.

 

I use evidence-based principles and strategies to support my clients in their problem areas and empower them to experience greater levels of resilience and wellbeing. This involves working with unhelpful patterns of behaviour, thoughts, feelings, and relationships to establish new patterns that better serve their goals and values.

  • Focused on understanding the individual’s pain and distress and their motivation to heal and experience change

  • Maintains an authentic and safe relationship that is free from any judgment

  • Incorporates behavioural, emotional, cognitive, and relational patterns to better understand and support the individual

  • Helps to increase purpose and vitality by connecting more fully with valued goals in the present

  • Working with anxiety and mood disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, impacts of trauma, substance use and addiction, loneliness, grief and loss, interpersonal difficulties, and personality issues.

  • Previous experience in private practice, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient groups, community mental health, and university clinics

  • Current research assistant at UNSW working with loneliness and hoarding behaviour

  • Published journal article on the relationship between depression and online media consumption; publication pending on OCD and emotion regulation
