My clinical work is centred on genuine respect for the unique needs of my clients. I use evidence-based therapies to help clients gain insight into their lives - especially the way past experiences colour their interpretation of current events.    

 

I am passionate about helping people recognise and move away from limiting patterns of behaviour to live more full and authentic lives.  

Clinical approach

  • CBT, Schema, ACT, DBT, Compassion Focused Therapy, Trauma-informed therapy, and Mindfulness.

  • Works primarily with adults and adolescents.

  • Therapy is focused on understanding the factors maintaining current problems in the client’s life.

  • Creates a warm and supportive environment.

Experience

  • Experience working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient groups, university clinics, applied behaviour clinics, telephone counselling, youth services and clinical interviews.

  • Experience working with anxiety, mood issues, personality disorders, relational/interpersonal difficulties, family difficulties, perfectionism, grief, low self-esteem, procrastination, body dissatisfaction and trauma.

  • Published journal article on the effects of social media addiction on depression and low self-esteem.

  • Currently writing a Master’s dissertation on the effect of social media addiction on body dissatisfaction and psychological distress in pregnant women.
